RCA 128 Tombstone (1934)

RCA 128 Tombstone (1934)
Sold by Lew Magrish on January 3, 2011
Listed price on date of sale - $399.00
This is the smaller version of the dome-topped tombstones made by RCA. Although it is the smaller model, it measures a grand 20-1/2"H x 17"W x 12"D. This makes it a very large table set equal to the "Grand Cathedrals" of the era.The finish is original, as are all of the balance of the parts. There is a small veneer repair on the top, and a sliver along the left side missing. Neither of these detract from the beauty of the radio. The radio is a super-het, using six tubes and playing on two bands. This is a remarkable playing radio, with super selectivity and a great sound. My technician has done a terrific job in the restoration of this radio. He has replaced all of the filters and caps. Every component was tested for factory correct values. He aligned the tuner for an accurate tuning scale. The radio has been rewired, including the speaker harness, to ensure decades of solid performance. The radio has a fine reproduction power cord and plug for your safe operation.
