General Electric radios sold!
|Sold by James F. Hauskins on April 3, 2019|
Listed price on date of sale - $285.00
|GE marketed this large radio as the new profile replacement for the earlier tombstone production radios. This set came from a well-known museum and is probably the nicest example to be found. Features three (all wave bands), AM, and two short wave bands with an eight-tube complement featuring a electro dynamic coil speaker with three different tone settings for each band. Has a unique fine tuning adjustment between the desired setting of the individual radio stations. Radio was fully inspected and all bands work with exceptional reception on each (tested with included 25ft antenna with no ground wire attached). Would say the cabinet was expertly restored at one time with only older minor scratches on top rear of cabinet as shown. Some of tubes and AC cord replaced but appears all original. Chassis inspected with all controls, tuning mechanism, cleaned and lubed, tubes checked and played for one hour flawlessly. Only reference about this model was found in a 1938 radio magazine ad where some of the description noted. 21-3/4"H x 16-1/4"W x 11-3/4"D. Will keep shipping at lowest possible price estimated weight of 30lbs between $50 and $60.|
