Philco 18 Cathedral (1933)
Philco 18 Cathedral (1933)
Sold by Kenny Boyd on January 16, 2019
Listed price on date of sale - $495.00
Less than 6000 of these sets were produced, and you rarely ever see this model or model 44. This set was expensive and was produced in the worst years of the Depression. Some of the best features of this set are the Shadow Tuning Meter and push-pull output which sounds phenomenal. This set still retains its original finish and displays very well (please excuse the wax I left in the cracks, white stuff; I will get that off). The chassis was restored replacing out of spec resistors and all paper and filter caps. The grille cloth is an exact reproduction. This set is a beautiful original and rare on top of it all. The tuning meter works great and this set plays loud and clear, a great performer. This radio has BC and one shortwave band. Don't miss out on this rare set with its original finish. 18"H x 15-1/2"W x 11"D.
