Zenith radios sold!
|Sold by Gary Ball on April 1, 2012|
Listed price on date of sale - $195.00
|The Model D is the first of the high performance "Long Distance" Royal 500's. Their chassis added an eighth transistor and an additional un-tuned RF stage that increased signal sensitivity four times. It runs on four "AA" batteries and cost $75.00 new when it was introduced in 1957. This maroon colored one is a scarce early version of the Model D with black lettered collars. It is in perfect playing condition. The all original 8AT40Z2 chassis is serial #330,015 and it will amaze you with its strong and clear reception across the band. This "Long Distance" radio will pull all the stations you know about, and perhaps you will discover some new ones, too. Full lettering on the back and shiny chrome battery contacts tell you this radio has been pampered its entire life. 6"H x 3-1/2"W x 1-3/4"D; weight 16-1/2 ounces.|
