Loftin-White radios sold!
|Sold by Lew Magrish on March 14, 2009|
Listed price on date of sale - $259.99
|You are looking at one of the scarcer and edgy pointed cathedral radios of the era. Marked under the factory label as "Sterling," this particular radio was the super designer label of the famed Sears and Roebuck Company. Looking at all of the additional photos, you will quickly appreciate how unique the styling was for the era. This is an earlier type of radio, and thus a "TRF" circuit. The radio will do everything a later super-het will do, but will require more antennas. The closer you are to a station the louder the radio will play. The condition is nice. I had to replace the speaker cloth, as it had dry rotted from age. The power cord, plug and knobs, I believe are original factory installed items. The radio has the complete factory back, which is rare. The radio has seen some earlier restoration, but it could benefit from your care and attentions. These radios, being the earlier circuit are not as easy to operate or as selective as the more advanced later radios; but what a great looking and unusual design.|
