RCA radios sold!
|Sold by Larry Martine on May 12, 2020|
Listed price on date of sale - $850.00
|This is an Art Deco gem! The obscure model of this radio in Walnut and Ivory Finish is rarely if ever found in this condition. Its Bakelite cabinet is in perfect mint condition with no breaks, chips or hairlines. The chassis was restored by the previous owner and it plays well picking up all the local stations. It has a very innovative beautifully lit dial that is part of a roller as you turn the dial knob. This radio was designed by John Vassos, an American industrial designer and artist who helped define the shape of radio, and TV for the Radio Corporation of America for almost four decades. He also designed the widely popular Perey turnstile still used in many subway stations. This one's a rare one, likely the best example of this set you'll ever find. Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 11"W x 7"H x 7"D.|
