|With the second "war to end all wars" behind us, the postwar economic boom spurred a resurgence of higher end radios. This 62TC16, one of the first produced by Stewart-Warner after the war, is one of the largest table radios I have ever seen. That said, they didn't let all that space go to waste. They gave it a very nice 6-inch speaker, with an advanced audio feedback circuit designed to reduce distortion. It is far and away the best sounding table radio I have ever heard. The internal antenna is adequate for local stations, and I have provided external broadcast and short wave wires for more distant stations. Additionally I equipped it with an accessory cable for your mobile devices. This set needed a lot of TLC, and I gave it to it with a complete chassis restoration and a complete strip and refinish of the cabinet. I didn't go as crazy on it as I do with some higher end radios but it has nine coats of nitrocellulose lacquer, and no major dings or flaws in the finish. I feel safe in saying the minute you plug in this radio and tune in a station you will be glad you bought it, and I hope you do. 21"W x 11"H x 10"D.|
