|What a wonderful futuristic novelty specimen of this difficult to find radio, often called the "Searchlight," "Spy," and sometimes "Disc." This one has been beautifully restored physically and electronically. It plays well on both bands. There is an obvious "flaw" in the wood at about the one o'clock position, but it was that way when I purchased it and I have made no attempt to fix it; will leave that to the new owner. Other than that I can't find much fault with this awesome piece. It was sold by G and F Sales of Chicago and a lot has been written/discussed about who actually manufactured it for them. Most of the folks seem to identify it with Pacific Radio Co. Some claim it was Climax. Who knows for sure? This particular one plays and displays beautifully as you can see. The tuning eye is strong and works properly. The beautiful multi-colored dial is near perfect. This should make a nice addition to most collections or "standalone" on anyone's bookcase (radio collector or not). Precious piece of history right here!|
