Sold by Joe Millward on February 1, 2019
Listed price on date of sale - $849.00
Offered for the first time on the Radio Attic is this beautiful and rare Emerson model AT-170. Our radio is the only picture of this model on the Internet. The chassis has some very interesting features: the first knob causes the broadcast band to flip back and the shortwave dial scale to appear in its place (Robot dial); the second knob is the tone control and the third knob is for the tuner. The tuner can also be changed by turning the teledial. Very ingenious! The knob on the far right is the on-off volume control. This six-tube, two-band (SB, SW) radio plays great across the dial. Every capacitor has been replaced and the tubes and resistors have been checked and replaced as needed. A safety fuse has been added, and an audio cable can be installed at no extra charge. This is another beautifully constructed cabinet by the Ingraham Clock Company. Note the inlaid Australian Laurel and strips of Maple on an American Walnut body. Gary stripped the cabinet and applied a professional "factory fresh" finish using the finest grain filler, toner and lacquer. 17"H x 13"W x 11"D.
