Listed price on date of sale - $799.00
|Prior to the manufacture of The "Zenette" line in 1931, other radio manufacturers had started producing "discount" radios in 1930 due to the onset of the Depression. Zenith was a little late with its L series, as Philco had already introduced its model 20 "Baby Grand." Nonetheless, the Zenette line brought big profits to Zenith, and carried them through the early Depression years. The LH was the top of the line Zenette, with beautiful veneers and intricate grillework. This was the only seven-tube Zenette, playing broadcast band only. We went through this radio replacing all of the capacitors, checked and replaced resistors and tubes where needed. The radio was was given a precision alignment. These early cathedrals were great performers. This radio picked up stations sitting on my workbench with no antenna. Gary stripped the cabinet and refinished with his usual expert craftsmanship. This LH has a beautiful face with Birdseye maple adorning the crown. Gary finishes these radios like the factory did...this radio is gorgeous! 19-1/2"H x 16"W x 10"D.|
