Here is a nice little Trav-ler (about 1956). This is a really attractive four-tube Bakelite set. This radio has been through the restoration process, and is 100% functional. Being a four-tube set, this radio does not have the sensitivity of its AA5 cousins. The radio was designed primarily for strong signal areas. If you live in an urban area with strong signals, the internal antenna will work satisfactorily. However, due to the significant improvement in reception offered by connecting a length of wire to the screw terminal on the back, the radio was aligned and optimized with a length of wire attached. The same wire that was used in the alignment will be included with the radio. This wire can be hidden behind a curtain and tied to the curtain rod or run along a piece of trim. This is not really a great "starter" radio. Rather, this is a radio better suited to someone familiar with vintage radios and how to optimize antennas for best reception. Noteworthy on this radio is that it still has the hang-tag on the cord indicating that the plug should be reversed in the wall outlet if excessive hum is heard. That was too neat to remove!
