This stunning white Plaskon Emerson was introduced in the summer of 1935 to complement their upcoming 1936 model line. Offered in Bakelite was walnut brown and black. The white version was made of stylish Plaskon, and is usually considered by collectors as the most desirable of all. This one is quite shiny and retains its original grille cloth, back and knobs. As with all Plaskon radios, they have the typically expected hairline cracks, which develop over the decades. This particular one is blessed to only have two of them on the top. The electronics have been completely restored and the original "curtain burner" resistor line cord, which is notably a fire hazard due to exposed excessive heat, has been upgraded to a modern period specific cloth covered power cord with a white Bakelite plug installed for your safety. This radio plays and sounds very well both on the AM broadcast and shortwave band. The shortwave band consists of the older police frequencies and current amateur radio frequencies. If you are an avid radio collector, you shouldn't let this one pass by! 9-3/4"H x 7"W x 5"D.
