|This walnut Emerson BL200 is a wonderful example of early Bakelite cabinet design. The cabinet is constructed of three separate Bakelite pieces -- a front panel, back panel, and U-shaped piece for the top and sides. With its many molded ribs and patterns, it has an unusually stately design. The cabinet on this one has a good original shine (not clear coated or otherwise polished) and one very tiny hairline crack on the upper left rear that I bet you won't find easily! The dial has a beautiful design, and has been fitted with a new crystal clear dial cover. The five-tube chassis has been electrically restored for like-new performance, with a strong set of tubes, new capacitors throughout, new resistors where needed, a replacement vintage speaker, and a full RF/IF alignment. A new vintage-style power cord has been installed, along with a fuse for improved safety. Sensitivity and sound quality are good with a fairly short wire antenna. The police band is not functioning due to an oscillator coil problem, but there's nothing to listen to on the low end of the short wave range these days anyway, so you won't miss it. Lighted dial. 12-3/4"W x 8-1/4"H x 6-3/4"D.|
