|This dual-speaker AM/FM radio is an excellent performer on both AM and FM. The white painted Bakelite cabinet has its original finish and while it's not perfect, it looks quite presentable. There are no cracks or chips in the Bakelite. The eight-tube chassis is exceptionally clean, and has been fully restored with all electrolytic and paper capacitors replaced, a strong set of tubes, a silicon rectifier diode in place of the original selenium rectifier, all contacts cleaned, and new resistors where needed. A full RF/IF alignment was done with sweep generator on both AM and FM, and this is the key to getting the FM performance on these 1950s FM radios as good as new. Sensitivity and sound quality are excellent on both bands, and FM tuning is easy -- not finicky like it is with poorly aligned radios. This radio has a built-in loop antenna for AM, and a third wire in the power cord serves as the FM antenna. A fuse has been added for improved safety. There is a tone control, as well as an original phono input selected by a position of the band switch. This is a great radio to use as a daily listener in your home. 13-3/4"W x 8"H x 7-1/2"D.|
