General Electric 201 Plaskon (1946)

General Electric 201 Plaskon (1946)
Sold by Tom Albrecht on November 7, 2012
Listed price on date of sale - $90.00
This handsome white Plaskon General Electric harbors a large 6" speaker inside -- mounted at an incline, with the sound coming out of the narrow grille on the top front. The six tube circuit has an RF amplifier for extra sensitivity. The cabinet looks excellent, but has one small visible crack on the right side of the dial and a very small chip on the upper right front corner. Front/back painted glass dial scale and knobs are original. The chassis has had a full electrical restoration, with all new capacitors, weak tubes replaced, a full alignment, and a new vintage style power cord for safe operation. The radio pulls in stations as well as it did when it was brand new. 12"W x 8"H x 7-1/2"D.
