Zenith radios sold!
|Sold by David Spivey on September 3, 2015|
Listed price on date of sale - $174.00
|This 1942 Zenith is one of the classic pre-War Zenith designs before the company switched over to military production. This set was designed by Robert Davol Budlong, Zenith's most prolific designer. This Budlong design is known to current generations as the "Darth Vader radio." An undamaged Bakelite case with beautiful swirling. No cracks, chips or hairline cracks, and no repairs. Nice original contrasting butterscotch knobs give this set instant appeal. This six-tube chassis has been checked, and the set plays very well picking up all my local AM stations during the day, and many distant stations at night with an internal loop antenna. Dual dial lamps. The radio has its original back, which is almost always missing. About 11"W x 7-1/2"H x 6-1/2"D.|
