Emerson radios sold!
|Sold by David Spivey on June 27, 2014|
Listed price on date of sale - $169.00
|An Emerson Radio icon from 1938, one of their smallest models. Described in 1938 advertising as "Emerson, the Aristocrat of All Small Radios." The styling has been attributed to the great industrial designer Count Alexis de Sakhnoffsky, who also designed the Emerson "Mae West." This ivory Plaskon midget set is pristine condition. It has its original black Bakelite knobs and black sled feet. There is no cosmetic damage. It has its original resistance line cord in good shape, and plays nicely with its original antenna wire. A perfect Retro-Tronics back is on the case. Its original purchase price was $9.95. About 8"W x 5"H x 3"D.|
