Silvertone 4663 (1937)

Silvertone 4663 (1937)
Silvertone 4663 (1937)
Sold by David Spivey on January 25, 2012
Listed price on date of sale - $369.00
Curved front Silvertone in 100% near mint original condition. This is one of the Silvertone sets that is just truly beautiful in its design. Maybe an easier set to find refinished with 29 coats of lacquer, but when is the last time you saw a Model 4663 in this wonderful original condition? The grille cloth and knobs are all original. The green eye tube is bright, and the dial is really grand with foreign stations and location. The radio is working, playing, and tuning well with six tubes and three bands, AM, SW and Police. There weren't any loop antennas in 1937 radios, so the set relies on an antenna wire for best reception, especially SW. A truly beautiful example of one of Silvertone's most commanding deco sets. If you need more pictures, just let me know. 15-1/2"H x 11-1/2"W x 9"D.
