Emerson EP-381 (1941)
Emerson EP-381 (1941)
Sold by David Spivey on October 4, 2011
Listed price on date of sale - $139.00
A perfect undamaged untouched original Plaskon pre-War Emerson midget radio. These radios came in four colors: green, red and ivory Plaskon, and brown Bakelite. Some of these sets came with lift-up handles, and some without. When all four are lined up, it's a picture of radio art! For an excellent display & discussion of these sets by Paul Turney's TubeRadioLand, click here. This Plaskon case with black contrasting knobs and handle is in great condition, no cracks, chips or hairline cracks. These Plaskon sets are usually always bothered by hairline cracks, and it's extremely rare to find one without any. The chassis has been check by a pro, and plays very well, picking up all my local AM stations clearly. A perfect Retro-Tronics replacement back is in place. Midget sized at about 8"W x 5"H x 5"D.
