Project! This Coronado is a Holy Grail of our radio-collecting hobby and is hands down one of the premium designed sets of the 1940's. It's a cream-colored factory-painted Bakelite commonly referred to as the Coronado Racetrack Radio due to its blue and clouded white oval front that resembles a racetrack. The volume and tuning knobs are beautiful and original and match the oval's color. Over the years, many collectors mistook the blue handle, knobs, and oval to be Catalin. What I do know is that this set is one of the best selling radios in the hobby. The case is virtually un-improvable. The chassis needs work, as my pictures will show. The interior displays some rust that should be removed by the buyer and the caps will have to be replaced and the tubes tested. Lastly, the 4" speaker either needs to be re-coned or replaced. The set's output transformer is fine. For display purposes, the set is shelf-ready! If you want to play it, you'll have to tackle the work. I simply do not have the time. If you google the make and model number, you'll get numerous hits proving the sets popularity and beauty. Book value ranges from $300-$400. Opinion: Don't hesitate on this one.
