Atwater Kent 82 Cathedral (1931)

Atwater Kent 82 Cathedral (1931)
Sold by Phil Bartells on August 11, 2008
Listed price on date of sale - $999.00
This vintage cathedral is a gorgeous seven tube superheterodyne radio! It is one of the hardest to find and most sought after Atwater Kent Cathedrals. The gothic arch with exotic Zebrawood veneer, matched butt walnut panel, carved twist pilasters, combined with the gothic-style grille cut-outs and brass escutcheon (mimicing the upper arch), make this one of the most stunning early 30s cathedrals (it sold for $69.80 complete with tubes). It has been electronically serviced, may have the original finish (if not it was well done) and grille cloth, works super & covers the broadcast band. It is complete with original speaker, knobs, etc. (best I can tell), is super selective, perfectly aligned, clear sound and ready to enjoy! This radio is so nice it could be a highlight of your collection! 19"H x 16"W x 10"D, shipping weight 30 pounds.
