General Electric E61 Tombstone (1936)

General Electric E61 Tombstone (1936)
General Electric E61 Tombstone (1936)
Sold by Bob Atchison on September 3, 2017
Listed price on date of sale - $165.00
Here is a very nice example of a transitional set from cathedral to tombstone styles. By mid 30's the cathedrals were passé but the Deco styling of that day called for lots of curves. This radio plays great, has been recapped and all components checked. There is an auxiliary input 3.5mm jack for iPod or anything else, and I am including a Bluetooth receiver as well! You can download free Old Time Radio shows on your phone and play them wirelessly on your vintage radio! In 1935 GE introduced the metal tubes and were advertising them heavily. This radio originally came with these type tubes and is now equipped as it was first sold. 17"H x 11"W x 8"D, about 24 pounds packed.
