Silvertone 43 made by Mission Bell (1935)
Sold by Bob Atchison on February 14, 2015
Listed price on date of sale - $325.00
This is an extremely rare radio. I could almost guarantee you don't have one of these in your collection. In the 30's during the Depression, Sears Roebuck would contract local manufacturers and sell their radios under the Silvertone label but only at that locality. All service was done by the manufacturer. This one was made by Mission Bell in Los Angeles. It has been fully restored and it plays loud and clear. Both shortwave bands receive as well. The tubes are all ST type and they have the correct "Goat" type shields. Knobs are original and made of wood. The lower left one is the same but it is more worn than the others. the pattern does still show. About 21 lbs packed. 16"H x 13"W x 8"D.
