| Raymond Loewy's Iconic Design manufactured by the Colonial Radio Corp of Long Island, NY in 1933.
This unique Bakelite five-tube radio is among the greatest of collectables and a prized possession of many radio collectors and art enthusiasts.
The chassis was rebuilt, the speaker reconditioned and all controls were checked, lubed and are in working condition. The AM only radio receives several local stations at my home and works well. New cloth covered power cord, new cloth covered antenna wire. The resistance cord has been replaced with a diode. The backlit dial glows brightly. The gold graphics are in wonderful condition. No damage to the top and bottom black Bakelite globe sections although if you look at the last photo you will see a small chip and reinforced crack on the back side of the base of the radio. You cannot see it when displaying this beautiful trophy radio. Additional pics upon request. The stem of the radio retains is original plating. The equator ring, the knobs and top retention acorn nut were all repainted with a gold metallic paint. New reproduction speaker cloths installed. 17-1'2"H x 11"W x 11"D; weighs in at 14 lbs 8 oz prior to packaging. It will be packed well to survive the rigors of the shippers. |
