| I offer AUX cables for radios that can accommodate them. I can also do Bluetooth on most radios for an extra fee. On TRF and extremely old Superhets, anything over $599, I will send a small AM transmitter to allow alternative music or other input. |
![]() THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
| This is the early and most coveted model of the Philco 90. This model has push/pull audio utilizing 45 tubes, the local distant switch, and the metal escutcheon. The radio design is attributed to Edward L. Coombs and was the largest of the Philco Cathedral line. It is referred to as the "Baby Grand," and was the most expensive of its tabletop models that year. The chassis was rebuilt by Blake Dietze, and the cabinet refinishing was done by Old Friends Refinishing of Vancouver, WA. The chassis rebuild consisted of replacing all of the capacitors. In this radio Philco used tar blocks to encapsulate the capacitors and the metal containers have been retained and reused in the chassis rebuild. All resistors have been tested, and those out of tolerance have been replaced. The tubes have all been tested and are good. The radio is fused for safety. The radio retains its original grille cloth and cloth cord. The push/pull audio provides tremendous volume, but this radio predates AVC, so if you change from a weak station to a strong one, the change in volume is substantial! I will include a small AM transmitter as part of the sale as this is one of the radios which an input cord might not work as expected. 19"H x 17"W x 12"D. Requires an antenna. |
