Airline 62-196 (1935)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW/Aux or BT)

Airline 62-196 (1935)

NEW!This seven-tube Montgomery Ward catalog radio features three bands, AM/SW/Police with an impressive "airplane" dial face. In addition to a split-second hand, there are two other little pinwheel dials that show volume and tone position (and look like eyes on the round dial!), along with three colored "dots" that change color as you switch bands! In addition to a separate variable tone control, there's a "broad" & "sharp" control, turning a table model into console radio sound! Original wood knobs are all present with copper inlay trim (one was missing the trim and had to be painted in). Features a set of strong tested tubes, all capacitors have been replaced. Controls cleaned and lubricated for smooth operation. New dial belt. It requires an external antenna to be attached to the chassis antenna wire to receive short wave and more distant AM stations. Its cabinet has been totally refinished, with multiple shades of spray toner, and topped with a light coat of clear enamel for durability. New period correct grille cloth. Plus, I added my aux 3.5 mm cord at no extra charge to allow even more listening options beyond what you find on the AM band. Great price for a high-quality, 26# tombstone radio--compare with previous sales of similar Airline brand radios on the Attic! 18"H x 15-1/2"W x 10-1/2"D.  $249.00. (1790531)

I offer a quantity discount on my radios, so check out my other listings and drop me a line if you're interested in more than one at a time. A Bluetooth/MP3 player 3.5mm cord has been installed at no additional charge when the circuit design allows for another listening option beyond the standard AM broadcasts. You can plug in to the headphone port of your device and enjoy the music of your choice through the radio or unplug for standard AM broadcasts.
