![]() THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
| With a chassis made by the prolific R.P.C. of Chicago, makers of countless different chassis for countless different brands, this apparently was christened a Knight, as indicated by the gold name tag on the front of the cabinet. Yet the schematic for the chassis indicates it is a Continental Radio model 6B! Beyond all of that it is a six-tube AM/SW with a very unique feature not commonly found in table model radios of this size, electric motorized tuning! There are six preset buttons that can be set to your local stations by moving the thumbscrews on the frame at the back of the chassis and sliding the contact stops to the appropriate position. Factory instructions on how to do this will be provided with the radio. I set them to my local stations, and they all work as they should save for the #4 button, which only works intermittently due to a worn contact point. Usually reserved for very high-end radios, this is the first "off brand" table model set I've ever encountered with this very cool feature! The cabinet was nicely refinished by the previous owner. It receives all of my local stations with its long wire attached to an external antenna or use the attached 3.5mm cord to play your own content through the radio. Short wave is more active at night. The chassis has been totally recapped, tubes tested strong, controls cleaned & lubricated. It has a very colorful red and green dial scale that really pops in a dark room! 16-1/2"W 10"H x 9-1/2"D. |
