The RCA T6-9 is the 1935 version of the more common 1936 T6-11. This model is quite scarce, this being only the second example to appear on Radio Attic in its history. Its Art Deco cabinet was refinished with multiple toners, featuring black accents, and topped off with a light coat of clear enamel. Grille cloth and knobs are original as is the cloth covered line cord. New exact reproduction dial scale to replace the illegible hopelessly darkened with age original. 1935 was the first year for the RCA pioneered metal tubes and this radio has all metal (shielded) tubes except for the 80 rectifier. Since they didn't make a metal type 80, RCA added a black painted tube shield around the ST style tube to make it match the others. The six-tube AM/SW chassis has been gone through with all new wax and filter capacitors, and all out of tolerance resistors replaced. Comes with a strong tested set of tubes. Plays loud through its big 8-inch speaker. This set requires a long wire antenna to be connected to an external source for more distant/SW reception or use the AUX cord to play your own audio through the radio. 17-1/4"H x 13-1/2"W x 9"D. $259.00. I offer a quantity discount on my radios, so check out my other listings and drop me a line if you're interested in more than one at a time. A Bluetooth/MP3 player 3.5mm cord has been installed at no additional charge when the circuit design allows for another listening option beyond the standard AM broadcasts. You can plug in to the headphone port of your device and enjoy the music of your choice through the radio or unplug for standard AM broadcasts. |
