Introduced in June 1940 as part of Philco's 1941 lineup, just 5,700 sets were produced of this beautiful pre-War radio. This set has been electronically restored and puts out big sound across the dial thanks to its five tubes and 6-inch electrodynamic speaker which give this AM radio outstanding tone and great sensitivity. The very striking harp-shaped walnut case with Zebrawood veneer trim has been hand polished and now has a gorgeous shine. The dial lights up beautifully in the dark. Its vertically louvered grille is in mint condition and its claw feet, knobs, speaker cloth, dial and dial cover are original to this set. A portion of its bottom label remains. The back panel is a replacement. Biggest issues include minor wear to the wooden dial trim and Zebrawood veneer at the top before it begins its waterfall descent to the bottom of the radio's front panel. Another great radio from my personal, smoke-free collection. About 13"W x 9-1/2"H x 7"D. $535.00. (1750056) |
