I generally avoid brown Bakelite radios. When I saw this very nice FADA S46W, I made an exception. The Art Deco style cabinet is one of the nicest I've seen. The Bakelite material is at least twice as thick as any in my experience, helping it survive with no cracks. These dark brown radios are notoriously difficult to photograph. Trust me, the cabinet is very nice. The chassis is well designed and the sound is surprisingly good. The gold dial is eye catching and brightly lit. Reception is surprisingly good for a five-tuber. This was previously restored, and a very good job of it. I had to make a back cover for it. If you're a FADA person, this is rare. Only one has sold on the Attic in 2014 at $225. All in all, a really nice little radio that won't break the bank and doesn't take up much space. 11"W x 7-1/4"H x 7"D. Requires an external antenna. $225.00. (1680183) |
