Zenith 7-S-529 (1941)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Zenith 7-S-529 (1941)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Where this very attractive 7S529 is concerned, it's like management went to the engineers and said "stuff a console into a table cabinet." They did a pretty darn good job, fitting it with the familiar, large Zenith black dial, extensive sound control paddle switches, five preset buttons, and a 6-inch speaker. The perfect speaker gives surprisingly good sound. The cabinet is stylish and ornate, with a few blemishes from its 70 plus years of service. The photo finish is near perfect. I overcoated it with 12 coats of lacquer and three sanding operations for a very nice, slick finish. I had to strip the top to remove an irreparable liquid stain. I replaced all of the rubber wiring. My usual, professional chassis rebuild produced a very good player on the internal antenna. Antenna contacts and a short wave wire for more distant stations. I left the bezel as is but refinished the tone button and preset covers. I had to make a back cover for it. One of these sold on the Attic for $599 in 2019 with the back cover missing. This is a very nice table radio, and if you actually want to listen to it, you'll be glad you bought it! 16"W x 10"H x 9-1/2"D.
