Crosley 154 Mini Cathedral (1933)
Crosley 154 Mini Cathedral (1933)
This adorable little Crosley 154 came to me in absolutely horrible condition, but it is the only example of this model I can find, so I wanted to restore it. The speaker grille has a bad spot where someone attempted to repair it. The front veneer was in terrible condition and I had to do massive repair work on it. There are a lot of flaws from its 80 plus years of service. The photo finish on the lower left and right columns is missing. I believe the grille cloth is original. The speaker is not original and has a couple of patches on it. I had to paint the chassis. Crosley employed regeneration in the IF/Detector tube to give it the performance of a five-tuber. It has the early 30s antenna swamping volume control. Broadcast only. Requires external antenna. While it has some shortcomings, this radio is extremely rare. None has ever sold on the Attic and the only one on Radio Museum is this one. If you're a Crosley guy, I bet you don't have one of these. 12-1/2"H x 10"W x 8"d.  $399.00. (1680085)
