Here is nice small and highly collectible cutie part of Arvin's "Phantom" series sets. Since it doesn't have the typical "nickname" I'm wondering if it might be the 1st in the series (not much written on this model). This one is only dubbed "Phantom" per Radio Museum. I do believe this is first one of this model ever on the Attic. The Arvin Phantom Series with their distinctive colorful, lighted dial are gorgeous. Glows! Original wooden knobs, speaker, dial, etc. This is a five-tube & not as strong a performer as I would like but does play with the short wire antenna & plays better with longer wire. If you plan to make it a daily driver, you may wish to have a pro tech take a look. The cabinet has been nicely refinished with correct toning, etc. & looks great with the contrasting toned "fingers" that wrap around the left side basically matching the bottom band. The "sprocket" wood knobs are original as is the dial, speaker, grille cloth appears original but not completely sure...for sure it is era correct. Very clean, rust free chassis as well with factory paper on bottom of cabinet. Easy on the eyes & doesn't require much shelf space. 13"W x 8"H x 6"D. $229.00. (1640402)
