THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! A ONE-DAY WONDER!

The two most copied models of radios used in today's reproduction market are the Philco 90, and the radio we have here today, the Atwater Kent 735. Both radios represent changes in the radio market at the time. The Philco 90 showed us a transition from the "coffin" style radio with external speakers, to the totally self-contained radio with a cathedral style cabinet. The Atwater Kent 735 shows a transition from cathedral style cabinets to tombstone cabinets. The 735 actually has both elements in its design. The 735 is a five-tube, three-band (SB, SWx2) radio. We replaced all of the capacitors with modern equivalents. The resistors and tubes were all checked and replaced where needed. A new power cord, safety fuse, and an audio input cable were installed. I can't say enough about Gary's masterful refinish. He stripped off all the old finish and using the highest quality products ended up with a "piano" lacquer finish. There are a handful of guys in America that know how to do radio cabinet refinishing and Gary one of them! The original knobs, chassis, 8-inch speaker, and grille cloth are with the radio. Why have a repro of this model when you can have a valuable "better than new" original! 19-1/2"H x 14"W x 10"D.
