Zenith 9-S-30 (1936)

NEW!The progression of Zenith radio models from 1935 (809, 829,835) then 1936 (6-S-27, 7-S-28, 9-S-30) to 1937 (6-S-128, 10-S-130) to 1938 and the "Walton" series clearly shows the design and electronic innovation that made Zenith one of the top three manufacturers in the world. This large, nine-tube, three-band (SB,SWx2) 9-S-30 was the top of the line for 1936. Once again, this radio sat on the bench and picked up stations quite clearly without an external antenna. The set was gone through, replacing all of the capacitors with modern equivalents. The resistors and tubes were checked and replaced where needed. This is a fantastic performer with lots of volume through the original eight-inch speaker. A new power cord, audio input cable and safety fuse were installed. Gary stripped off the old finish and did a masterful job refinishing, ending up with a stunning "piano" lacquer finish. The original knobs, chassis and speaker are factory original. These rarely seen radios don't come up very often, and this one is exceptionally beautiful. Don't let it get away! I don't think it will be here long! 24"H x 17"W x 12"D.  $2,495.00. (1600655)
