B.F. Goodrich 127 (1937)

Here's another brand name that was difficult to track the manufacturer. Mantola was a trade name for radios sold by B.F. Goodrich manufactured by Radio Products Corporation in Chicago. Several Mantola radios for B.F. Goodrich were manufactured by Admiral, but there is really no way of knowing all the manufacturers. The radio was also sold by Walgreens. Imagine going into a B.F. Goodrich store to buy tires and seeing these gorgeous radios displayed for sale. The 127 is a seven-tube, three-band (AM,SW,Police) radio. All of the capacitors were replaced with modern equivalents. The tubes and resistors were checked and replace where needed. We installed a new power cord, safety fuse and a new antenna wire. There is a factory phono input jack that will also function as an audio input for a Bluetooth receiver. The tuning eye tube is bright and active. Gary stripped off the old finish, and using only the best products, skillfully ended up with a "piano" lacquer finish. The radio has the original knobs, chassis and 6-inch speaker.
