Admiral 47-J55 (1940)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Admiral 47-J55 (1940)

NEW!In 1934, Ross Siragusa created the Continental Radio and Television Corporation, which sported the Admiral name brand. After several military contracts, the company grew and began manufacturing televisions as well as radios. The company became one of the top three producers of televisions. Admiral was the first to produce color televisions and by 1951 they had produced 5 million sets. The 47-J55 is a five-tube, two-band (AM,SW) radio. We replaced all of the capacitors with modern Mylar equivalents. The resistors and tubes were checked and replaced where needed. We installed a safety fuse, a polarized power cord, a crystal clear dial cover and a back cover. The radio has a loop antenna and receives stations local and distant with good volume and tone. Gary stripped the cabinet and refinished this beautiful radio to a "piano" lacquer finish. The chassis, 5-inch speaker and knobs are original. This is a cute little radio that doesn't give up performance for its size, and is offered at a great price! Add it to your collection today! 14"W x 10"H x 8"D.  $349.00. (1600651)
