Stromberg-Carlson 130-U (1936)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Stromberg-Carlson 130-U (1936)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

1936 was a great year for Stromberg-Carlson radios. The company had three or four different chassis that they altered for various models. The company had a really good in-house cabinet making facility. Some of their cabinets are the best in the industry, and their Art Deco designs were unsurpassed. The model 130-U tombstone design was top-of-the-line for 1936. They also had a horizontal version of the radio, but the vertical tombstone model is one of my favorites. The 130-U is a seven-tube three-band(SB,SWx2) radio. We replaced all of the capacitors with modern Mylar equivalent. The resistors and tubes were checked and replaced where needed. We installed a safety fuse, new power cord, antenna lead, and an audio input cable. Gary did a masterful job refinishing the cabinet. He stripped off the old finish and using the best ingredients ended up with a "piano" lacquer finish. This radio is gorgeous! The original knobs, 8-inch speaker and grille cloth are with the set. These beautiful radios are pretty rare and definitely don't show up in this kind of condition very often. It's a strong performer and will look great in any collection. Make this rare radio yours today! 20"H x 15"W x 11"D.
