Zenith 5-S-228 (1938)

NEW!Another solid piece of Zenith engineering in an attractive, compact tombstone. Two-band (AM and SW), five-tube chassis with 6F6 output tube. Chassis is exceptionally clean and rust-free and has been restored, recapped, aligned, and lubed. Aux input added so you can play whatever you please. Nicely-lit dial. The finish is original and is in very nice shape indeed, with a few incidents of flaking and a few dings, but certainly nothing major. All I did to this was give it a cleaning and hand-polishing. I love the shape of the cabinet, the "racing stripes," the grille cutouts with black highlights in the center, and those cool little feet. This one is all ready for a new home and to plug and play. 15-1/2"H x 10"W x 10"D deep including the knobs. Like every radio I sell, this will be well-packed with industrial-grade packing materials in a correctly-sized box to give it a safe trip to its new home.
