| GE produced a lot of radio designs, but none as distinctive and stylish as the "Turbine" lineup from 1939. They were unlike any other radios in their appearance and also had incredible brown and tan mottling in their Bakelite cabinets. This one has been checked by my tech, is in wonderful condition, and is playing fine, picking up all my local AM stations clearly. The dial lamp shines thru the dial wheel when the radio is turned on, creating quite a dramatic effect. GE made this model in four versions: The H-500 with a plain front and cardboard back, the H-510 with pushbuttons and cardboard back, and the H-520 with pushbuttons and a full Bakelite back. The H-520 also was available in beautiful, swirled Plaskon. This case is excellent, with no chips, cracks, or hairline cracks. All push buttons and knob are original. It's a small radio at about 9"W x 5-1/2"H x 5"D. Package deals available on quantity orders. |
