Zenith K412-R "Owl Eyes" (1953)
(plastic tube portable radio)

Zenith K412-R "Owl Eyes" (1953)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is one of the smallest Zenith portables produced and commonly referred to as the "Owl Eyes" for obvious reasons. Seven decades old, and this radio is in near mint condition with no cosmetic issues like chips or cracks or other distracting issues. The handle is in excellent condition, without any breaks, which is a very common occurrence on many of these radios. Even the white lettering in the Zenith name on the handle is in excellent shape. The shiny metal inserts are still inside the original knobs. The radio comes with its special cord which inserts into a receptacle in the back of the case. The set is playing strongly picking up my local AM stations clearly with no problems. The chassis has been checked completely by a pro. It's a four-tube set with the antenna built right into the handle. "Zenith. The quality goes in before the name goes on!" A very cute and very small Retro portable. It originally was produced in maroon, black, white, and gray. I have owned several over the years, and this is in the best condition of all of them. About 6-1/2"W x 4-1/2"H x 4"D. Shipping should run between $20 to $24 to most anywhere in the USA, fully insured & packed safely.
