Mark Toppo's Attic
"Selling radios at the Radio Attic since January 2002"
Western Royal 173 (1940?)
(Bakelite tube table radio)
|
A first for the Radio Attic is this attractive Western royal Bakelite radio. My understanding is that these were sold through Western Auto which make sense. Only a few examples of Western Royal radios can be found and I could not find this one. The radio is in excellent condition with the exception of the chip in the mounting retainer inside the cabinet as shown. It has a nice repro back. The chassis is mounted with five screws not four. I have never seen that done on any radio. It has been serviced and a strong performer, still retaining the original call letters on the push buttons. If you like rare radios this is for you. 12"W x 8"H x 7"D. $199.00. (0260911)
