 A nice looking red Emerson Pioneer 888 AM radio built in 1958. They are all awesome AM players that pick up quite a few stations during the day. More at night. I worked on 1930's and 40's Emerson radios and they were well built with beautiful Ingraham cabinets. This cabinet is different then the Vanguard but just as pretty. For its size which is a little bigger than most pocket radios of that time. It components are at least five times as big as any other small radio I have seen and the case is built much thicker, thus a stronger case and is supposed to never break. They just don't have any cracks or missing pieces. It does show some wear on the back. It is a radio which very little will go wrong. It has eight transistors, five new electrolytics and one wax capacitor replacement. This radio uses four "AA" batteries and will play when you receive it. The last photo is a way to make it easier to load four "AA" batteries. Your choice. 6-1/2"H x 4"W x 1-3/4"D. $185.00. (0040532)
