 This is a beautiful white Emerson Vanguard 888 AM radio built in 1958. I worked on 1930's and 40's Emerson radios and they were well built with beautiful Ingraham cabinets. Most were easy to restore. This cabinet is spectacular. For its size which is a little bigger than most pocket radios of that time. It components are at least five times as big as any other small radio I have seen and the case is built much thicker. Therefore it is a stronger case and is supposed to never break. However it does have a small repaired crack on the bottom. It has eight transistors, five new electrolytics and one wax capacitor replacement. This radio uses four "AA" batteries. 6-1/2"H x 4"W x 1-3/4"D. $185.00. (0040528)
