![]() THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
| This is beautiful red Emerson Vanguard 888 AM radio built in 1958. I worked on 1930's and 40's Emerson radios and they were well built with beautiful Ingraham cabinets. Most were easy to restore. This cabinet is spectacular. For its size which is a little bigger than most pocket radios of that time. It components are at least five times as big as any other small radio I have seen and the case is built much thicker, thus a stronger case and is supposed to never break. It is a radio which very little will go wrong. It has eight transistors, five new electrolytics and one wax capacitor replacement. This radio uses four "AA" batteries. I am not a Fan of the original battery holder so I will add a battery box that will be easy to load the batteries and install in the case. 6-1/2"H x 4"W x 1-3/4"D. |
