Delco R1128 (1937)
This Delco is a three-band radio with tuning ranges: Broadcast 535 to 1720 kHz; Police and Amateur Band 1695 to 5500 kHz; and Foreign Short Wave 5.2 to 18.1 MHz. It is configured with the attractive station tuning 6G5 tube, which visually indicates signal reception strength as the “eye” opens and closes during tuning. The speaker cone, out of tolerance resistors, and all capacitors (with the exception of the mica) have been replaced. Grille cloth is new and all tubes have been tested for proper conduction with a reliable Hickok model 6000. The Delco radio schematics are listed in the Rider manual under United Motors Service. Truetone D1022 (1940)
This Truetone D1022 is a two-band radio with tuning ranges from 530 to 1700 kHz and 6 to 17.5 MHz. Schematics for this model radio are not listed under Truetone (Western Auto) in the Rider manual, however, the reference points to Continental Radio & Television model E6 in volume 12. Tubes have been checked, out of tolerance resistors and all electrolytic capacitors have been replaced. The schematic does not define lamps for station illumination so I inserted lamps to give visibility for selection. Detailed restoration photos are available.
