This gorgeous tombstone is a rare find. It is shown in Machine Age To Jet Age Volume 3 as a model 335. I have seen variations including the model 120 that is shown with the 335. The cabinets are the same, but the 335 is about 1" smaller in height and width. The cabinet has been restored to its original beauty by Toppo Restorations. The grille cloth and knobs are original. The knobs are beautiful and similar to Scott knobs with inlaid wood rings. The chassis has been restored and plays well. This is a real show piece right down to the Atlas World dial. 14-1/2"H x 10-1/2"W x 7-1/2"D. $749.99. (0026347)
SOLD! As a matter of record, the Atwater Kent Radio Company was one of the most innovative and highest quality makers of the 1920s-30s. There were boutique makers, but with the exception of a few factories, none better. This is a perfect example of the high quality radios they made. This was an advanced seven-tube model, and a superhet circuit. The radio chassis is in such fine condition, it looks almost factory new. The power cord from the factory, was so acceptable, that we left it attached; it is that good of condition! You can see the fine cabinetwork, and the original finish. Even the speaker cloth has survived in good condition. My technician has replaced all of the filters and caps, and aligned the radio. The set plays, well like you would expect from an A-K. These sets are seldom, if ever offered for sale and this is a very fine example of a choice collector's radio! 19"H x 16"W x 11"D. $899.99. (0096225)
Here is a classic to the radio world. Known for the distinctive and advanced styling made this radio a favorite then and now. The radio has the futuristic looks with the day in and out reliability of the six tube chassis This radio has see a complete restoration both with the electronics, new filters and caps, and a complete and accurate repainting. The radio has been restored all the way to the very accurate "Belmont" decal. The radio retains the full factory paperwork on the bottom of the set and a complete and intact, factory back. Here is a great example of an American classic! 12"W x 7-1/2"H x 7"D. $299.99. (0096219)
This painted Bakelite radio still has its original maroon paint job. The front view is the most like the actual color. Flash photos don't always come out exactly right with this color. The cabinet is perfect except for just minor specks in the paint. The logo is missing from the front grille but the back is original and even mentions the original color. This is probably the newest model that still used bantham (octal base) tubes. Completely restored, sounds great and my guarantee applies. About 7 pounds. $50.00. (0100022)
This all-metal set was originally covered with some kind of faux wood grain stuff. It is now chrome plated. I took it a step further and added a NOS appliance cord so now it resembles a 30's kitchen appliance; thus dubbed (by me) the "Toaster." The original circuit has been slightly modified strictly for safety. It plays pretty decently for a five tube (four and a ballast) TRF set. These don't have near the sensitivity or selectivity of a superhet, but it will pick up the local stations as long as you have an antenna connected. The original back has been replaced with a reproduction. The dial is very colorful and has a beautiful glow when the set is on. The set is bright and free of dents, gouges and scratches (the photos don't do it justice). The top does have some slight discoloration around the grille area. I think it was just a result of the plating process. This radio is sure to be a conversation piece, especially if you collect appliances from the 30s. Weight about ten pounds. $225.00. (0100021)
SOLD! This is very sharp looking radio, Burgundy with Gold trim. Works well after the electronic restoration. It has a phono jack and switch on the good solid back cover. Polished up pretty good, shows some finish wear in a few spots but the overall appearance is a good (8). $69.50. (0002679)
Here is a fine playing six-tube radio. The radio is a dual band set, and from both the performance and styling, you can see the fine quality involved. The striking good look, in a very art deco way, reminds me of some of the fine buildings made in the same influence. The condition is outstanding. The radio has received a complete restoration. All of the filters and caps have been replaced and every other component, check for strength and correct values. The radio is finished with a fine new silk covered cord and Bakelite plug, which is an extra effort for safety and perfect performance. 14"H x 15"W x 9"D. $359.99. (0096216)
This little "Gold Mirror Dial" is a popular and well known set. This paticular example has been restored inside and out. The chassis has been restored replacing the power cord, all capacitors, out of tolerance resistors, and the chassis has been cleaned and detailed to look new again. The cabinet has been refinished in a lacquer finish just as it was originally. The set plays loud and clear on both bands. These are great little sets and will look great in any parlor. 14"H x 12"W x 8"D. $259.00. (0062139)
SOLD! The Detrola radios from the late 30s were among some of the best looking sets made. This rarely seen model is just stunning. Every inch of this set has style. The cabinet was just restored by Toppo Restorations. It retains the original grille cloth and knobs. The chassis has been restored and plays as beautifully as it looks. It would be hard to find a better example of this truly classic radio. 13-1/2"W x 10-3/4"H x 6-1/2"D. $599.99. (0026346)
