THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This truly beautiful Zenith 6D221 must have been someone's workshop radio. It came to me with black and white paint on it, and some fairly bad grease tracks around the volume and tuning knobs. I was able to get almost all of it out of the wood, with two or three spots where you can still see it. Beyond that, this cabinet is ornate and attractive, with its contrasting veneer trim strips, waterfall front, and unique grille design. It comes with the classic Zenith black dial, "lightning Z" knobs, and, I believe, the original grille cloth. The finish is slick and gorgeous, with 12 coats of lacquer and two sanding operations. My usual thorough chassis rebuild produced a pretty good player on broadcast and short wave. I fitted it with all high testing tubes for long service life. I had to make the back cover. This one must be uncommon. Only three have sold on the Attic, topping out at $499 in 2018. You gotta admit, this thing really catches your eye! Requires an external antenna. 14"W x 10"H x 8"D.
