If Shiny and eye catching is your thing you will love this dazzling little Emerson 520. The finish is just gorgeous and the wood grain pattern is very distinctive. The chassis is just a plain AA5 with on/off/volume and tuning. After restoration it receives fairly well on the internal antenna. I added an external wire for more distant stations. The back cover is not original. The front is slightly bowed out in the middle, but I don't find this objectionable. You can see it in the "top" photo. This was, I'm sure, a very low budget radio in its day, but now it is quite a standout that will definitely get noticed. I sure did, and maybe paid a little too much for it. These topped out on the attic around $400. This one has a few shortcomings, so I'm pricing it accordingly. 11"W x 9"H x 6-1/2"D. $339.00. (1680188) |
