Philco 16B "Peak Top" (1933)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Philco 16B "Peak Top" (1933)

NEW!This was Philco's top-of-the line radio in the mid 1930s and is a magnificent performer! The monstrous eleven-tube chassis plays through a 10-inch original speaker & push/pull output! This was the second model produced with a fine tuning control which was an added enhancement from the earlier model. Great sensitivity & the shadow meter works well. This radio was completely restored by previous owner, but I did have my Tech inspect and replace two weak tubes including the 80 Globe tube you can see. He also removed the canister & ensured the block caps were replaced. He also realigned & added a mini-jack for your ability to connect to any modern device. This has been tested & works very well also. The "Peak Top" cabinet looks very "original" with correct toners and lacquer having been properly applied for a factory-like finish including the pinstriping. The grille cloth is an authentic reproduction. Knobs, speaker, etc all look original. Nice rust free chassis. Factory tags & schematic still in place inside the cabinet. The 16B is sometimes referred to as the "Holy Grail" of Philco collecting. Don't miss your chance to own the best of the best for a great price. Large & heavy, but I pack very well & ship promptly. 22-1/4"H x 17"W x 12"D.  $650.00. (1640409)
